Final Symphony has toured since its 2013 premiere in Wuppertal. The Tampere Philharmonic Orchestra played it in Tampere Hall in September 2014, and the studio recording was made with the London Symphony Orchestra at Abbey Road Studios in December 2014 and released in 2015. Final Symphony II premiered in Bonn in 2015 and toured to London, Osaka, Yokohama, Tampere, Stockholm, Amsterdam and Essen; its studio album, recorded with the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra and released in 2023, reached number 2 on Billboard’s Classical Crossover chart.

Valtonen has also written a violin concerto on themes from Octopath Traveler, music by Yasunori Nishiki.

Demoscene archive

Valtonen was the lead composer of Future Crew between 1991 and 1996, under the name Purple Motion. He wrote in ScreamTracker 3, which was developed inside the group, and later in FastTracker II. In 2019 he collected 33 of these tracks on the album Tracked (1991–2000).
